CBD Products seem to be everywhere!
In the last few years, you’ve probably noticed CBD products everywhere. CBD has exploded onto the market thanks to the passage of the US Farm Bill in 2018, which legalized industrial hemp, and medical and recreational cannabis at the state level.
The only thing spreading faster than CBD seems to be the confusion over what CBD actually is.
So, if you are already a user or are merely CBD curious, our CBD Explainer Video will help you cut through the
bullshine misinformation and explain what CBD is, what CBD offers you, and how CBD is legal.
What is CBD?
Let’s look at CBD in more detail
Where does CBD come from?
CBD, or cannabidiol, is just one of over a hundred different cannabinoids found in the Cannabis plant.
The Cannabis plant genus contains three species; Cannabis Sativa, Cannabis Indica and Cannabis Ruderalis.
Snug CBD is derived from a specific plant variety of Cannabis sativa, bred specifically to contain high levels of CBD and very low levels THC (THC is the chemical compound that makes you feel high).
Cannabis sativa, which is below 0.3% THC is classified as hemp. All of our CBD products are derived from hemp.
Snug CBD – Thinking Straight and Feelin Great
Cannabidiol (CBD) is a phytocannabinoid that is found in high concentrations in certain strains of hemp. Cannabidiol can interact with the human endocannabinoid system but has non-intoxicating effects (does not give you the high feeling from THC).
Cannabinoids have been used medicinally, recreationally, and for spiritual reasons throughout much of humankind’s history.
It’s been used in some form by societies throughout the world. The oldest known written record regarding its use comes from almost 5000 years ago in China! Ancient Greeks used it to dress wounds at horses and to apply to human nosebleeds. Cannabinoids were medicinally popular among Vikings and medieval Germans for toothaches and for relieving pain during childbirth. England’s Queen Elizabeth the First famously used cannabinoids to relieve her menstrual cramp
What is a Cannabinoid?
Cannabinoids are compounds found within cannabis and hemp plants.
Cannabinoid – THC commonly known as a MARIJUANA
The most well-known cannabinoid is probably tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), which is accountable for the intoxication (high) found with the consumption of cannabis.
Typically smoked as a joint, marijuana gives you the intoxication feeling and high from the high concentration of THC in its makeup
Cannabinoid – CBD healthy benefits without the HIGH
CBD, does not produce an intoxicating effect; instead, it provides manageable therapeutic and fitness benefits. Scientific and Medical research is ongoing, and new benefits are announced almost every day.
CBD products are commonly created in numerous steps:
- the raw cannabinoid plants need to be cultivated and harvested.
- CBD oil is extracted from the plant using a range of method
- Once you have extracted the CBD oil, it can be ingested raw or used to infuse a range of products
Some of the most frequent CBD merchandise on the market encompass sublingual tinctures, infused edibles, and topicals, like gels or creams.
CBD has shown to generally serve as a boon for brain health serving as both a protectant and enhancing neuroplasticity. CBD can effectively be applied topically, reducing inflammation and overall body pain.
Some studies suggest that CBD might help fight cancer and has already earned a place in overall cancer treatment for its ability to reduce nausea and help with the pain.
