Keto CBD – Working together
The Keto Diet (or Atkins as it was called a few years ago) is in vogue recently.
“Ketogenic” is a term for a low-carb diet (like the Atkins diet). The idea is for you to get more calories from protein and fat and less from carbohydrates. You cut back most on the carbs that are easy to digest, like sugar, soda, pastries, and white bread.
What does CBD have to do with keto?
If you have ever tried a low-carb diet, you will know it focuses on healthy proteins, fats, and oils. It might seem obvious that CBD OIL fits nicely into this category.
Studies show that CBD works well with dietary fat. Healthy foods, rich in protein, are proven to successfully fight inflammation, and even helping prevent coronary heart diseases.
CBD is Absorbed faster than Dietary Fat
Ingesting CBD in the forms of oil-filled capsules, or adding CBD powder to drinks, are some of the most frequent methods we use to get CBD orally. The trouble with taking CBD orally is the poor bioavailability rate, which can be as low as 15%, in other words only 15% of the CBD you consume will enter the bloodstream.
Luckily, consuming CBD with your dietary fat can notably increase absorption. A recent investigation divided keto dieters into two groups: one that consumed CBD only while fasting, and the other group consumed their CBD mixed in with a high-fat burrito. The results? The high-protein group had, on average, four times the absorption of the neat CBD consumer!
CBD is fat-soluble, your body absorbs it best when paired with fat-containing foods. So, whatever oil you’re into most (coconut, olive, grapeseed, avocado etc ) mixing and using your CBD in the ktichen is going to make your CBD most effective.
So, if your ketogenic eating plan is primarily focussed on the consumption of proteins and dietary fat, the potential absorption and therapeutic impact of CBD while eating clean Keto is terrific news for anyone looking to lose some weight, get lean and also enjoy the benefits of CBD while eating their Keto foods.
Create your own cooking oil with CBD
You can mix your CBD Isolate with any oils used in your kitchen. The flavors are great, and you can easily mix CBD into Butter, Ghee, and other cooking oils. We like to add it to coconut, grapeseed, and olive oil when not heating it too much.
The positive effects from CBD effects may burn off if you heat the oil too high – so we recommend staying below 320˚F.
To make your own cooking oil is very simple:
- Pour the cooking oil you are using into a mixing bowl
- Add the CBD isolate to the oil and mix thoroughly (start with a small measure and experiment with a flavour profile that you like)
- Pour your new CBD-infused cooking oil into an airtight container and keep in your fridge for best results
Sprinkle this oil over salads, and vegetables.
If you want to use a CBD tincture instead of a CBD infused oil, simply add a few drops to your beverage. Coffee with some coconut creme and CBD oil tastes delicious.
