Can CBD Trigger a Drug Test Failure?
Pure CBD will not show up on drug tests — but since some hemp-derived CBD products contain trace amounts of THC, these may show up on a screening, depending on the lab and testing threshold used by your employer.
Our entire Snug CBD product lineup complies with the federally-mandated THC limit of less than 0.3% by dry weight, so although unlikely, a positive test is still possible.
Why is this?
Due to the nature of CBD cultivation and production, most cannabis products contain trace amounts of the psychoactive molecule THC.
However, Cannabis plants grown in the United States must have less than 0.3% THC, but cannabis plants grown elsewhere may have a higher percentage.
Since this is the case, during drug screening, full-spectrum cannabis extract products may trigger THC positive, because it is usually not known how much THC is required to trigger a drug test and everyone’s body processes cannabis products differently.
